Samurai Saturday Fall 24

Samurai Saturday (Parents night out) was a hit. Blanket Fort Building, glow in dark Kata’s, Tug of war, Ninja Ball, were a few of the favorities. Check out the photos below! We are doing another round Halloween stay tuned for dates. A BIG thank you to Rhianna for helping!!!

Bo Kata 1

​Bo Kata One

Being with feet together facing twelve o’clock and bo behind your right
arm. Shift right shoulder forward so the bo is in front of you, rotate the
tip up towards nine o’clock and continue over the top to three o’clock,
grab with your left hand, palm down. Switch your right grip to be palm
down, step out with your right foot into a horse stance.

Left half moon back, pivot to nine o’clock and right high side block. Left
inward strike with bo in right armpit and left hand sliding to meet right
hand. Right half moon forward, right downward strike with left hand set
by your hip. Left half moon forward, left downward strike with right
hand set by your hip and a kiai.

Pivot to twelve o’clock and right half moon back, pivot to three o’clock
and left high side block. Right inward strike with bo in left armpit and
right hand sliding to meet left hand. Left half moon forward, left
downward strike with right hand set by your hip. Right half moon
forward, right downward strike with left hand set by your hip and a kiai.
Pivot to twelve o’clock and right high side block. Right half moon
forward, circle your left hand back over head, right hand into your left
armpit, left outward strike, return to neutral. Left half moon forward,
circle your right hand back over head, left hand into your right armpit,
right outward strike with a kiai, return to neutral.

Pivot to three o’clock and left high side block. Right inward strike with
bo in left armpit and right hand sliding to meet left hand. Left half moon
forward, left downward strike with right hand set by your hip. Right half
moon forward, right downward strike with left hand set by your hip and
a kiai.

Pivot to twelve o’clock and left half moon back, pivot to nine o’clock
and right high side block. Left inward strike with bo in right armpit and
left hand sliding to meet right hand. Right half moon forward, right
downward strike with left hand set by your hip. Left half moon forward,
left downward strike with right hand set by your hip and a kiai.

Pivot to twelve o’clock, switch right grip, circle your left hand downward
and back up into your right arm pit, right foot meets left foot, left hand at
your side, bow.

Abacada

Abakada — 12 Basic Targets

Feet together, stick cradled in your left arm, salutation with stick, stick set on your right shoulder

  1. Right foot forward, inward strike to the temple, left hand on biceps
  2. Left foot forward, outward strike to temple, left hand on hip
  3. Right foot out to horse stance, inward strike to elbow or ribs, left hand on biceps
  4. Left foot out to horse stance, outward strike to elbow or ribs, left hand to hip
  5. Left foot steps together and then forward, upwards stab from groin to chin, end over left shoulder, left hand to biceps
  6. No step, downward slash from collarbone to foot, left hand baiting high
  7. Shuffle back, left foot still forward, set to right shoulder, right inward strike to knee, left hand to biceps
  8. No step, chamber to left hip, left check, palm-up cross-body stab to solar plexus, left hand to hip
  9. No step, turn, pull back optionally slashing throat, squat slightly, palm-down inward stab to the heart
  10. Right foot steps together then to hip width, umbrella, twirl, reinforced strike to the crown
  11. Left foot steps together, set blade across lap with left hand against the flat of the blade, left step forward, reinforced side stab to the nose
  12. Left foot steps together, circle stick down and back, left step forward, side stab to the heart and left thrust punch to the solar plexus

Left step together, cradle stick in your left arm, salutation with empty hand
