Kid rocks Kempo 2

Developing quick reactions and precise movements requires dedication and knowledgeable instructors. Mitt and bag work are used to enhance speed, focusing on hand articulation and maintaining body balance.

Kids Lesson – Side Blade Kicks

Side blade kicks tone the body while focusing on balance. Requiring focus and lots of reps to get it just right. Not every kick was on target, but each was better than the last.

Be better than yesterday – Practice Kempo every day.

Inside Trap to Guillotine

The “trap” can be preformed outside or inside. Here we look at inside while continuing by putting attacker into guillotine, when attacker drops a shoulder to escape, continue their motion to either their left or right.

Pit-a-Pat

Partners face each other in a closed stance. Begin with a rear hand feed. The receiver defends with a lead hand check (lead hand forward mid block) and rear hand mid outward block, lead hand continues in a forward motion grabbing below the elbow while the rear hand grabs the wrist, a slight pull ends the defense. The defender now becomes the feeder by throwing a rear front punch. Rolls switch and the flow continues indefinitely.

Two-Count Switch (switching the punching hand during the flow)

During the rear hand outward block redirect their punch down and across, switch your guard, then feed twith your “new” rear hand.
